Kaite Ransom

My name is Kaite and I am an Algonquin woman whose ancestry is from the Algonquins of Pikwakinagan.

I joined Carleton University in the fall of 2021 as the Indigenous Initiatives Recruitment Coordinator with the Undergraduate Recruitment Office. Prior to this, I studied Behavioural Science at St. Lawrence College and received my Behavioural Therapy certification while working as an educational assistant. I also worked as a behavioural therapist and front-line mental health support and family advocate with a local Indigenous centre.

I enjoy helping guide students along their post-secondary path, no matter what their starting point. I work closely with Carleton’s Centre for Indigenous Support and Community Engagement to ensure that Indigenous students are aware of the many supports and services offered by the university. I can usually be found in Carleton’s Undergraduate Recruitment Office with the radio playing!
