Aaniin,
My name is Alyssa McLeod, Anishinaabe from Nipissing First Nation. I am the Indigenous Community Engagement Coordinator at Ontario Tech University.
I work with community partners, school boards and First Nation, Metis and Inuit communities to help raise awareness of educational pathways and career options for Indigenous learners of all ages. I am excited to partake in many wonderful collaborative initiatives, such as APSIP to promote post-secondary access and success to Indigenous learners.
As a member of the Indigenous Education and Cultural Services team at Ontario Tech, I also facilitate Indigenous-focused programming for Indigenous youth and educators that support Indigenous learners.
Check out Ontario Tech’s Indigenous Admissions Consideration Policy for First Nation, Inuit and/or Metis students who do not meet the competitive GPA for admission, but still meet a minimum 70 per cent high school grade point average. Students may submit additional documentation for consideration with their application through the Indigenous Admission Consideration Policy.
